The Úrágya Vineyard is a steep site with bedrock soil and red clay which has been planted by Furmint and a bit of Hárslevelű since the mid-1960’s. This vintage of 2015 resulted in concentrated wines with relatively high acidity but with good balance and a good potential for aging.
Tasting Note:
The Úrágya Furmint 2015 has a warm character: initially slightly sweetish notes on the nose (peach and quince), then a tasty and dry sensation in the mouth.
Food Pairing: The dry Furmint definitely has its place within Oriental gastronomy in general: the minerality and the freshness is great with fish, shellfish and oysters.
Grape: Furmint
Alcohol: 14%
Mature: 6 months in 400 liter big Hungarian oak (30% new oak)
