Kanosuke 嘉之助蒸溜所 Double Distillery Japanese Whisky (700ml)

Background: Kagoshima distillery stands on a beach-front on the west coast of Kagoshima Prefecture. It started operation in 2017 by Yoshitsugu Komasa, from a family with a long history in shochu production. One of the biggest advantages of the distillery is that there is three pot-stills instead of two, which is usual for craft distilleries of similar sizes all over the world. Each of the three pot stills have different neck shapes and lyne arm angle. Both by using different pot stills for redistillation and by blending new make spirits from different new make spirits from different stills, whisky of richer flavors and aromas can be offered.

Kanosuke Double Distillery is a Japanese whisky made at the two distilleries owned by the family in Kagoshima, on Japan’s southwest coast. The carefully crafted recipe brings out the distinctive characteristics of each distillery.
Tasting Note:
Color: Amber brown
Nose: Vanilla, mint, melon, peach, apricot, lemongrass
Taste: Rich, cinnamon, black tea, orange, clove
Finish: Oaky, rich fruit aroma, well-balances with touch of bitterness
Type: Blended Malt
Cask: Pot still whisky distilled at Hoiki, and single malt distilled at Kanosuke. Both spirits are aged at Kanosuke.
